Your business launch is the culmination of a lifetime of expertise, planning and passion. This is not the time to “pay your dues” as the newcomer. Rather, you want to step out with a mature, professional image that says you mean business.
~ from Scott Alberts blog “The Long & Whining Road“
What does a new business sacrifice, when the owner (hoping to save money) decides to create his own logo from clip art, design and print his own business cards with his inkjet printer, build his own web site with one of the “free” web builder products? Are you truly saving money if you’re sacrificing professionalism? And how much of your valuable time are you willing to spend … should you be spending … outside of your billable area of expertise?
If there’s one thing that has clearly gained my attention in the past few years, it’s that doing everything on my own is foolish. There’s only one me … and only so many billable hours in a day. You can quickly go broke trying to save money.
What does a clip art logo say about your business - and what is the cost of doing it all yourself?
