“The world has a way of giving you what is demanded of it. If you are frightened and look for failure and poverty, you will get them, no matter how hard you may try to succeed. Lack of faith in yourself, in what life will do for you, cuts you off from the good things of the world. Expect victory and you make victory. Nowhere is this truer than in business life.” These were the words of Preston Bradley, a well-known preacher and community activist from the early 1900’s.
Attitude and imagination: two forces that can make or break a small business. What are you expecting for your future? Have you taken some time to envision your success?
Somehow the simple act of imagining success – how it looks, feels, sounds, tastes and even smells – can make the difference between success and failure. Each time you imagine success with all of your senses, you’re training your brain to achieve it. Great athletes train more than their bodies. They imagine the perfect swing, throw, step, etc. so many times that they train their brains to carry it out. Where the mind has repeatedly journeyed, the body will surely follow.
What does success look like for your small business? Do the mental exercise. Train your brain to “expect victory and make victory.”
